Street Photography as a Medium for Storytelling
According to James Maher, simply put, street photography is a photo genre
that prioritizes candidness in capturing human views. Several other definitions
add the location factor, where the photos taken must be in a public space. It
doesn't always have to be on the street as the name of the genre suggests, but
it can also be in a closed space as long as it's in a public space. Because of
this definition, I don't really like the Indonesian equivalent, namely Street
Photography. Returning to the definition that includes location, this photo
genre is not only limited to the street. I discovered this genre around 2010,
but at that time I was just an admirer. I initially looked at photographers on
DeviantArt and was very impressed with the way they captured human behavior in
public spaces. Not only showing emotions through facial expressions recorded on
camera, but also 'engineering' activities recorded on camera. Then I followed
another art social media, Shadowness, and there I signed up for a photography
mentoring program. I was paired with a mentor from Greece, and I shared my
desire to produce street photographs

mendaftar program mentoring fotografi.
jalanan.
